Summary: Screen Glow turns your phone screen into a customizable ambience light — glow sticks, LED text, multi-device Bluetooth sync, and night lights. It does not require an account, does not collect your name, email, or phone number, and has no backend server storing your personal data. Most features run entirely on your device.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
None. The App does not ask you to register, sign in, or submit any personal information.
1.2 Information collected automatically on your device
The following data is created and stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to us:
App settings and favorites — color presets, saved effects, and purchase state, stored via the device's local storage.
Local audio files — if you play music from your device's media library for night-light mode, the files stay on your device. We do not upload them.
Microphone input — if you enable sound-reactive glow sticks, the microphone is used on-device in real time to drive the light animation. Audio is never recorded to storage or sent anywhere.
Camera / flash — used only to turn the device flashlight on/off for beat-synced lighting. No photos or video are captured or uploaded.
1.3 Bluetooth (BLE) data
When you use the glow-stick squad sync feature, the App uses Bluetooth Low Energy to discover and synchronize nearby devices running Screen Glow. This exchange happens locally between devices over Bluetooth and is not uploaded to any server. On Android, discovering nearby Bluetooth devices may require the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION permission; we use it only for Bluetooth discovery and do not use it to determine or store your location.
1.4 Information collected by third parties (Advertising)
The App displays ads through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, AdMob (operated by Google) may automatically collect:
Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
Approximate general usage and interaction with ads
IP address (used for basic geo-targeting at city level)
This collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Ads Privacy & Terms. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (see Section 5).
2. How We Use Information
On-device data is used solely to operate the features you choose (render effects, remember your settings, play your local music, react to sound, drive the flashlight).
Ad-related data is collected by Google to show ads and keep the App free.
We do not use any of the above to identify you personally, build a user profile, or share it with other third parties for their own purposes.
3. Data Storage & Security
All personal and effect data lives in the App's private storage on your device. We do not operate servers that receive it. Uninstalling the App removes this local data. Because advertising is handled by Google, please review Google's own security practices for ad data.
4. In-App Purchases
Screen Glow offers optional in-app purchases (e.g., premium effect packs). Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play using their official billing systems. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Purchase records are managed by the respective platform.
5. Your Choices & Rights
Personalized ads: You can disable ad personalization in your device settings:
Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID / Opt out of personalized ads.
iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track", or Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off "Personalized Ads".
Permissions: You can revoke Bluetooth, microphone, camera, and media permissions at any time in your device settings. Doing so disables the related feature but does not affect the rest of the App.
Access / deletion: Because we do not collect personal data on servers, there is nothing for us to delete remotely. To erase all local data, simply uninstall the App.
GDPR / UK / EEA: If you are in the EEA/UK, you have rights to access, rectify, and erase your data. Since we hold no personal data about you on servers, these rights are satisfied by the local-only design above.
CCPA (California): We do not "sell" personal information as defined by the CCPA. Advertising identifiers are shared with Google solely to serve ads, which you may limit via the opt-outs above.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. Some glow-stick and night-light features may appeal to a general audience, so parental guidance is recommended for younger users.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or on our website, and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Material changes will be communicated before they take effect where required by law.
